Great native tree for naturalizing. Dark green, flat needles and uniform pyramidal shape. Young smooth, gray, resin-blistered bark matures to roughly-fissured texture. Most common evergreen used as Christmas tree and in fresh wreaths. Strongly scented.

Light blue-green flat, needles with one white stripe on top and two beneath. Dark purple-blue erect cones near crown. Smooth grey bark with prominent resin blisters, becomes fissured with age. Large, aromatic, native tree. Prefers a moist, well-drained soil.

Narrow, pyramidal, smaller native Rocky Mountain/Sub Alpine Fir. Long, soft, blue-green needles and grey-cream, thick, corky bark. Male cones under needles and upright, purple female cones near crown. Drought tolerant once established in a moist, well-drained soil.
